AMI’s international conference Plastics Recycling Technology 2019, took place 18-19 June at the Hilton Dusseldorf in Germany.
Leading experts discussed advances in plastics recycling systems, from sorting and cleaning through to compounding and pelletization. Speakers also examined developments in additives for boosting the properties, appearance, compatibility and processability of recycled plastics.
In addition, the conference covered the development of high-value markets for recycled plastics, including case studies of exciting new applications.
Legislation, regulations and standards play critical roles in the development of the plastics recycling sector, and Plastics Recycling Technology 2019 provided an update on relevant developments in these fields. It also looked at how recycling is closing the loop and working towards a circular economy.
The scope of the conference covered all types of polymers from polyolefins and PVC through to high-performance engineering plastics. It addressed applications ranging from the in-house reclamation of industrial scrap through to the recycling of mixed consumer waste.
