AMI’s Polymer Foam 2017 conference was held at the
Maritim Hotel in Cologne, Germany on 28-29 November 2017. The event took place for
the fifth time in Europe, covering chemical blowing agents, physical
foaming, particle foam processing and syntactic foam technology for
thermoplastics, elastomers and thermosets.
The busy conference programme featured two days of technical and market
presentations, plus a cocktail reception on the first evening. It provided
an ideal networking forum for product designers, plastics processors and foam
professionals from industry and research institutes to study the marketplace
and stay up-to-date with the latest innovations in cellular polymers.
Polymer Foam 2017 covered a wide range of applications including
construction, furnishing, automotive and packaging foams. Expert speakers highlighted the broad range of benefits that foamed materials and components can
deliver including light-weighting, insulation and impact properties. They
also covered a wide variety of chemical and physical foaming technologies and
The conference is relevant for the entire polymer foam supply chain
including resin producers, additives suppliers, formulators, compounders,
processors, product designers, materials specifiers and end users. In addition
to the busy two-day program, an exhibition run alongside the event,
providing plenty of networking opportunities during the refreshments breaks,
lunches and an evening cocktail reception.
