Senior Research Analyst

We are a specialist market intelligence, research, and events company providing reports, information services, magazines, conferences, and exhibitions for the global plastics industry with offices in the UK and USA. Due to the rapid growth of the business our Consulting group currently has a new exciting role for a Senior Research Analyst based in our Bristol, UK offices.

This role will involve developing and writing reports and providing consulting services for the sectors of the plastics industry related topolymer supply and distribution. This is a great opportunity to work in strategic market research and consultancy in a global business environment.

Role responsibilities:

  • You will be involved in the whole process of B2B research, from collecting and analysing the data through to producing the final market study.
  • Primary and secondary research of markets and businesses through both personal and telephone interviews and desk research
  • Developing data and statistics to quantify and understand business trends and market developments
  • Provide insight and analysis through comprehensive written reports and conference presentations
  • Occasional business trips to attend, present at, and chair international conferences
  • Provide an expert input and assist with the production of programmes for related conferences

You will need:

  • Rich experience of carrying out market research using both primary and secondary sources
  • Excellent communication and telephony skills
  • Strong Excel skills and an ability to collate and develop statistical data to support research
  • Proven ability to gather, analyse and interpret quantitative and qualitative data to identify and forecast trends, strategies and competitive dynamics
  • High level of accuracy and excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to explain and present complex data in an accessible way, communicating effectively to different audiences
  • Proactive, autonomous and able to work under pressure and in a flexible manner
  • Being fluent in English is essential and German, French, Spanish and Italian language skills would be beneficial.
  • Experience or knowledge of the plastics processing industry and polymer distribution is an advantage; however full training will be provided.
  • University degree, master business graduates will be preferred

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced conference producer to join Applied Market Information’s (AMI’s) fast growing conference production team based in our Bristol city centre offices.  AMI is expanding its portfolio of international events for the global plastics industry and is seeking a highly motivated and intellectually curious producer to research and create compelling programmes to help continue our growth.

The successful candidate will be part of our dynamic team of producers working alongside our experienced conference organisers who handle event logistics. They will also receive support and guidance from our knowledgeable team of market consultants and magazine editors.

AMI is a leading organiser of plastics industry conferences, running 60 events per year in Europe, America, Asia and the Middle East. It also provides consultancy services, produces market reports and directories, and publishes a range of focused digital magazines that are distributed globally.

Role responsibilities:

  • Conduct primary and secondary research to identify market trends and enable the production of high quality conference programmes tailored to the needs of the industry.
  • Identify and inviting expert speakers. 
  • Build a network of key industry professionals, inviting them to speak at the event and to advise on latest industry trends.
  • Project manage the event, in conjunction with the conference organiser, to ensure that key deadlines and targets are met.
  • Produce relevant content for conference literature and effective marketing campaigns and.
  • Occasional business trips to attend national and international events.

You will need:

  • Strong track record of generating successful B2B conference programmes and securing high-level speakers.

  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to multi-task working on more than one project at a time and to tight deadlines.

  • Good communication and telephone skills with an attention to detail.

  • Fluency in English and one additional language (preferred).

  • A keen and inquisitive mind able to gather, analyse and interpret quantitative and qualitative data to identify and forecast trends, strategies and competitive dynamics within the researched sector.

  • It would be an advantage to have experience of working on events in a related market – e.g. manufacturing, chemicals, oil & gas, materials, science, engineering, product design, automotive, medical or packaging.
